Thanks to the Uganda Heart Institute, Children’s National, and Coolangatta Medical Centre, thirteen-month-year-old Joyce has received the lifesaving heart surgery she required.
Pictured here with her father, Joyce is from a remote village in Uganda. She suffered from a very large patent ductus and heart failure, but is now recovering well.
Coolangatta Medical Centre began working with Children’s National in 2017 in the hopes of providing the financial support families like Joyce’s need in order to obtain desperately needed surgeries and other medical attention.
Children’s National strives to ‘Make Sure No Child Ever Gets Turned Away’.
Through the support of generous donors, they are able to ensure that every child can receive the same level of care — regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
